Jersey Shore Alpacas is a small farm owned and operated by Jim and Tish Carpinelli located near historic

Cape May, New Jersey.

At Jersey Shore Alpacas, we are committed to breeding fine animals with correct conformation and high quality fleece. We take pride in ensuring that our alpacas are cared for with the utmost attention to their health and happiness.

Because we are a small farm,

we are able to observe each animal closely and give them the attention they deserve.

We are members of AOBA and MAPACA and AFCNA.

Cria Update (July 15th)

On Tuesday, the vet came and did an exam on Chanel. She's not pregnant. Annabel isn't either (although we had figured that out already). Chanel looked fat enough to be pregnant, plus she exhibited some other signs that she might be pregnant.  The vet did an ultrasound and an internal exam, both negative. It seems that she might have a uterine infection that is making her think she's pregnant, a condition that is not uncommon in alpacas. The vet administered a shot for the possible infection. We are assuming that the ultrasounds done on Chanel and Annabel back at 6 weeks gestation might have been in error, which is also not uncommon. The ultrasound technology for humans can be much more accurate than a portable unit

used in the barn! Although we are disappointed to have to wait another year for crias, we do know that God does things for a reason, so for now, we'll have to consider our yearlings (who are still SO CUTE) our babies for a while longer!

Other farm news. . .

Last week, after a long time and a lot of work for Jim, we finally were able to open our pasture to the alpacas! Check this link to see the alpacas enjoying their new pasture. That's Oliver and Marcel Marceau taking a roll in the grass!

We also have some great new products in the store, including sock monkeys, a knitted alpaca kit, and most exciting - yarn from our alpacas! See our store page for photos!

So even if you've been wanting to see new crias, it's still a great time to come and visit your friends at Jersey Shore Alpacas! See you soon!
